The Official Complex

If I say so, it does not make it official. If McDonald's says so, it does not make it official. If the President of The United States of America says so, it does not make it official. They are in the period of the 'official complex'.

Having an official word is important. You need to be heard, believed, and followed. By having a powerful word, you can sound more official.

In general, the average person, the masses of people that watch American Idol, all think that because they see something on T.V. it automatically makes it official. In the event that they tell you that eating the Globby Double Burger is healthy, or that Schmoopties is the best selling bar soap of all time in the whole world, they will think it. In order to truly apply your skills and knowledge, you must know that nothing is official. A law is not official. Something written on paper is not official. What the owner of the company says is not official. Everything can be negotiated. This is the way you can provide actual power to your words and succeed in negotiating powerful deals.

How can they put more power in to our words, proposals, and negotiations?

While living in the Philippines, I met a man named Alfred. They is from Austria. I was blessed to run in to anyone with such extensive experience in actual estate and investing. Alfred loves to buy property, and they owns plenty of properties in Manila, plenty of of which, are built by SM Corporation, the king of malls and residential properties in the Philippines. After analyzing some of his properties, they came up with a brilliant idea. They proposed this idea to SM Corporation. This idea would permit the company to save a substantial amount of money in the long run, but would need more money up front. It called for solar panelling to be installed and maintained on the roofs of the condominium projects, which would then permit every faucet in the building to be heated round the clock 7 days a week (they still don't heat taps, you still must buy a water heater that is installed in the bathroom in order to heat the shower).

By applying your creativity to new ideas, and then proposing them to otherwise 'official' people with 'official' words, they can start to gain the 'official' word.

In case you can generate ideas like that on a regular basis, of them will stick. The Official Complex shall live no more.

The heating would even be included in the every month association dues and would start turning a grand profit in about 8 years. SM Corp. got interested. They sent a party of individuals to Austria to see the possibilities of this new idea and in the event that they would think about using it in their projects. In the finish, they ended up not using the idea because of their short-sighted decision making. The lesson is that Alfred saw the hole and potential solution to the heating of water in new condominiums and they then jumped on that chance to get his idea heard. SM Corp. was interested to send people to inquire in to. The deal would have made Alfred millions of Euros. Don't feel bad though, Alfred already has millions of Euros.
