Moral Entrepreneurs and Our Society Today

Although moral entrepreneurs don't actually generate or enforce any rules, they are the force behind its creations. They use any methods & strategies to persuade the people, & the powers that be, that action is necessary to be done. They present the behaviors & acts that they deem to be unacceptable as well as a threat to the morality of society & sheds light on the feasible outcome if there will be no treatments done outright.

Underage drinking, online pornography, pre-marital sex, abortion, drugs, these are some of the issues that moral entrepreneurs tackle. Acting as our society's watchdogs, they safeguard our moral decline & use whatever leverage they must enact effects to curb any further downfall. Composed of or a lot of people in a group, moral entrepreneurs take on the difficult task of confronting the issues head on & take this to the proper forum where rules will be set & enforced to prevent the re-enactment of actions which can further the issue.

For example; a group of moral entrepreneurs sees that a positive area of locality is being swept by crystal meth. Before this particular region is engulfed by addiction to the drug, they saturate the media & other popular broadcast means with videos, photographs, tales, other campaigns to let the people know of what the present issue will evolve to. As the residents of the area see the sizable picture, & recognize the potential dangers of the meth crystal epidemic, they then unite to prevent that horrific future from ever becoming true. This might lead to several other campaigns to pressure stricter laws. To enforce curfew, initiate higher police visibility, & may even divide themselves in to groups to patrol areas where high drug activity occurs.

In this case, the moral entrepreneurs have successfully lobbied for society to take action in the drug issue that could have worsen & engulfed what was four times a livable area & prevent it, its people, from further decline. Often, these lobbying is directed to the source of the issue itself. Unlike social entrepreneurs who focus their actions to the nonprofit groups, moral entrepreneurs direct their attention to profit groups. They exert efforts for the company or manufacturer to alter their perspectives on the matter to recognize the harm that is being created by them.

As with most entrepreneurs, moral entrepreneurs are persistent in their efforts to enforce higher moralities & awareness in our society, & would be inexorable in that pursuit until they create a suitable treatment to the dilemma. & with more people supporting the reason for moral entrepreneurs, they have become powerful, which is a must for them to succeed.
